This exclusive showcase highlights Dressy Doll, created by Korean artist Son JiYoung, who is renowned for her dreamy and adorable creations. The pop-up will be held at Harvey Nichols Pacific Place and Harvey Nichols Landmark stores, featuring limited-edition resin figures handmade by the artist, symbolic acrylic paintings, and a curated edit of captivating merchandise.
Brought to life from imagination, Dressy Doll imbues a sense of magic in the real world. For Son, drawing time and space that does not exist in reality was a magical experience, a feeling that translates through the whimsical art pieces in this collection. Inspired by "tears of joy," Son debuted her most recognizable fairy series, ‘Teary’, in 2017. The collection features charming characters like ‘Moani’, symbolizing a ‘breeze of scent’, and ‘Lady Jan’, who signifies the preciousness of ordinary life, all conveying the artist’s wish to spread the joyful happiness of dreams.
Son JiYoung's work has gained significant recognition in various fields, from art toy customization to high-profile brand collaborations. Notably, she was awarded the first prize at the MEDICOM TOY X COFFEE BEAN BEARBRICK DESIGN CONTEST. Previously only available online in Korea, this exclusive partnership marks Dressy Doll's very first launch into physical stores for a local audience.
The exhibition features exclusive releases, including the Dressy Doll Vinyl Figure – Teary Original Version, launched specifically for Harvey Nichols Pacific Place, and the Teary Black & Gold Version, sold for the first time at the Landmark pop-up. In addition to hand-blessed art figures, the curated edit includes water paintings, vivid acrylics, and lifestyle merchandise such as aroma stones, mood lamps, and music boxes. Guests also have the opportunity to participate in customizable vinyl art toy painting workshops to bring a touch of whimsical flair into their own living spaces.
